VHF Fights Malnutrition in Haiti

Working in partnership with Vanderbilt University Medical Center dietitians, VHF is in the process of shipping a sea container of $10,000 in "Plumpy Nut," to Haiti.

Plumpy Nut is a dietary supplement for treating severely malnourished children.  It is being shipped to the Clinic in Petite Riviere de Nippes, and distributed to children, who might not otherwise survive from their condition.

Two sachets (tubes) per day per child for 3-4 weeks will return a malnourished child to health.  According to Tom Grabenstein, M.D., medical advisor for VHF, the cost is less than $1.00 per day and the results are astounding.  Your gift of $30 per month can save many children's lives.

Malnutrition is one of the leading causes of death among children under age five in Haiti.  A simple treatment like Plumpy Nut will make the world of difference.  Your gifts, no matter how large or small, will make a huge difference.  Please consider making a donation today.  Click on "Donate Now," and save a child's life.
