Visitation Hospital Foundation (VHF), nestled in the heart of Petite Rivière de Nippes, in Southwest Haiti, is dedicated to serving the community with compassion and quality care. VHF is a recognized 501(c)(3) organization committed to upholding the highest standards of transparency and accountability in all our operations. Additionally, we have acquired 10 extra acres to support future expansion and enhance our services.

History of Visitation Hospital Foundation

Founded in 1999 by Theresa Patterson, VHF was born out of a vision to provide high-standard healthcare in Haiti. After years of groundwork, the first clinic opened in 2008, becoming a model for transformative healthcare in rural Haiti. Our innovative, energy-efficient clinic offers a range of services including medical, dental, and public health outreach, impacting over 300,000 patient cases to date.

Leadership At Visitation Hospital Foundation

Theresa Patterson

Theresa Patterson was Co-Founder of the Parish Twining Program of the Americas (PTPA) in 1978 and Founder of Visitation Hospital Foundation in 1999. For 46 years Theresa’s service to Haiti has been a remarkable life-long commitment of her passion and dedication. She has been an inspiration to thousands as a means to live the Gospel by serving the poor in Haiti and Latin America.
